REFERRAL POLICY

Patients who are new to the clinic or who have not been seen in the clinic within the past year require a written referral from a physician in order to schedule an appointment.

Is there a fee for treatment?

OHIP covers most consultations and repeat visits unless a patient is referred strictly for a cosmetic assessment/treatment.   OHIP does not pay for the removal of some lesions including warts on the hands, skin tags, spider veins, telangiectasia, blackheads and benign moles, or cortisone injections of acne cysts and scars. A fee will apply for these procedures.

Consultation for skin tags, benign lumps and moles, spider nevi, aging, chemical peels, Botox Cosmetic™ and filler substances (e.g. Hyaluronic acid, Artecoll ®) is not covered by OHIP and a consultation fee will apply.

The cost of the first treatment will be reduced by the fee received for consultations concerning: trichloracetic acid peels, Botox Cosmetic™ and filler substances (e.g. Hyaluronic acid, Artecoll ®) provided that the treatment visit is within 30 days of the consultation. Most insurance plans provide reimbursement for Botox™ treatment for hyperhidrosis.

The cost of research treatments is usually covered by a research grant.
